Our teachers are qualified industry professionals who strive for excellence.  Our dedicated teachers bring a wealth of knowledge to LWSOD and are known for producing polished and technical dancers who have gone on to gain full-time employment in the industry.  The team at LWSOD is committed to providing high-quality dance classes to enhance the overall development of each Child.  We offer a safe, child-centered environment to encourage our students to explore dance with qualified, nurturing teachers.  Collectively we aim to share our love of dance and knowledge with our students to ensure they reach their goals and dreams by being the best version of themselves that they can be. 

We understand that some students have a dream and passion to pursue professional dancing careers in the future and other students dance for the enjoyment and physical activity.  At the Lauren Wall School of Dance, we teach all students to the same standard ensuring correct teaching methods and encourage each student to be the best they can be.  For those students who long for more we offer our Elite Streams, which include additional technical classes, focusing on classical ballet technique and body conditioning.
 

For the past 20 years our Students have competed locally and at interstate National Finals and had great success. We encourage all students to audition for our Teams, should they wish to commit and compete with Team LWSOD. 

We offer invitations to our LWSOD Competition Teams to student’s who we feel show great potential and enthusiasm with a willingness to learn and improve.  

Our Teams at LWSOD range from Mini's and Juniors to Intermediates and Seniors.  Once our students are selected to represent Team LWSOD, they train weekly in all styles of dance including a dedicated class for routine rehearsals each week.  Our students are also selected to compete as Soloists at local competitions around Melbourne.  

At LWSOD, we offer Classical Ballet Examinations under BBODance, formally the British Ballet Organisation.  All our ballet Students are encouraged to participate in our Annual Ballet Examinations.  The British Ballet Syllabus is taught in each graded ballet class.  Examinations are held in August at the Studio.  There is a fee to sit the exam and additional uniform requirements.

Our students have achieved great success over the years, with many receiving 100% pass rates. 

BBO Dance examinations focus on technique, artistry, and performance skills.

We offer examinations at the following levels. 

• Pre Primary
• Primary 
• Level 1 — Grades 1-3
• Level 2 — Grades 4-5 and Intermediate Foundation
• Level 3 — Grades 6-8 and Intermediate
• Level 4 — Advanced 1 and 2

 At LWSOD, we offer The Glenwood Tap, Acrolink, and IDT Global (International Dance Technique) Syllabi in all our classes, across all age groups.

IDT (International Dance Technique) is designed to develop agility, strength, fitness, flexibility, and strong jazz technique in dancers of all ages and abilities.  It includes stretch exercises and age-appropriate conditioning exercises to strengthen muscles and power in dance combos. 

The Glenn Wood Tap Syllabus is a 9-level program.  Each level learns Individual steps, Combinations, Routines - Performance Quality, Barre Exercises, and Turning techniques. 

AcroLink is designed to assist our students in achieving acrobatic skills which can be incorporated into their routines.  It focuses on building strength and flexibility to accomplish acrobatic skills.
